Went out in the car tothe village of Bowden about 5 miles from my home town Bowden is not far from the town of Melrose in the Scotish borderlands i always liked the church there so thought i take a shot and share it with you
i shot in raw and tone mapped added a border and resized befor uploading a short detail of the church is below ty for looking

This church and its predecessors have stood here for over 850 years. When the great Border Abbeys were being founded by David I, monks from Selkirk who were to found Kelso Abbey were granted land in Midlem, Bowden and Eildon. This grant was transferred to Kelso Abbey in 1128 and from then on there has been a Christian presence in Bowden.
The layout of the church shows that its origins lie in pre-Reformation, lying as it does east to west with a long nave and transepts.
The oldest part of the church is the north wall with the pointed arch leading into the organ loft. This part is 15th century with most of the rest being the resul t of rebuilding in the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries

Hi Bryan,

Is this the one down the hill from the village if it is I have passed it many times it looks lovely you have done a god job with the tone mapping. Good natural colours sharp details and good pov I like the sky well done.

Regards
Jon

Hi Bryan, whatever you've done to this shot, the result is quite impressive. I'm not a fan of heavily processed photos, but I really like this one. It's a really gloomy and grey looking result. The headstones and even the 'kirk' look to be almost 3D!
Nice to see you back. Hope you had a good week.
Trudy

Hi Bryan!
Very good POV, medieval atmosphere. I love it. The borders kirks and abbeys' collekcion is very nice.TFS regards Sandor

Hi Bryan,

Wow, you should print this on metallic paper - it would definitely turn out three dimensional!

Spooky looking place, really nice POV and sharp sharp sharp.

Have a great weekend!

REALLY well done, Bryan!
I love those eerie, subdued looking colors and the detail is brilliant. Wonderful sharpness, beautifully composed and the sky suits it perfectly. Great shot! Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly

Agreed.
Having read all of the comments so far, they all say the same thing.
The subdued tones but colour retention is a good bit of work.
Adds a reality to the image which is already full of atmosphere and mood.

Yeah, i like this one. i like it a lot.

well done.

Martin

Very effective use of the tone mapping to create a lovely atmospheric shot. Good job
warm regards
David

Bryan, what a lovely epitaph most of these old grave markers must have. You have created, and/or, shot, a very moody and surrealistic image of this church and graveyard. Well done, lad, well done!

Hello Bryan
I like the pov with a lot of churchyard in the fg, and the gravestones add to the depth of the shot. The pp is great - it looks as if you didn't have a lot of light to play with on the day.

Hi Bryan

I like the diffused light & pastel colours. Well composed, with excellent sharpness & framing. Excellent graphism of the dark cross, against the lighter sky. Tfs!

Hi Bryan,
Nice tone mapping with this image, the colours are nicely toned down to give an overcast feel with the heavy clouds and a great PoV to get the Kirk in. TFS

Hi Bryan,
Mysterious, but a beautiful scene from Scotland, I think the tarnished colours fit well to the mood of this image. Good POV and post-processing work, impressive result. Thanks for the note, too.
Best regards,
Kristof
