Beautiful day today so had a trip to Dryburgh Falconry. (worth a search on google). Saw some beautiful birds.

Took this one for a walk in the woods what an experience. Still not sure about birds in captivity though really think they should be free. But I suppose this is as close as it gets.

Tried out my new lens set at 800 iso. Pretty pleased with the sharpness.

800iso, Impressive, Very litte noise on the shot and good focus on the head. The catchlight in the eye is nice and bright too.
Really nice shot.

Hi Peter,

Congrats on the new beasts at hand.
Excellent shot and well done on the composition. ISO 800 looks good, though, you would have done very well with ISO 400 at F/8.0
You are ready for some action now, sports?

Mike

Hi Peter,
Very sharp and clear, but why the f11@ 1/500? its been an iso 320 day at the rugby!!, there does not appear to be a great depth of field for f11?
But very well lit, and handles the bright highlights well,
Rob

Sharp guy! Well captured, great DOF and the composition is very pleasing... Excellent colours and textures, I can feel the feathers...
Very well done, Peter!

Wow, you should be pleased with the sharpness. Superb photo. I wonder how far from the bird you were. In other words, did you have that lens at full zoom? Like the background also which actually gives the impression of earth and sky - and the bird's eye just at horizon level.

Hi Peter,
Exceptional photo of the Falcon with razor sharp details! The lighting is great and the blured background brings out the subject better.

Well composed :)

You certainly should be pleased with the sharpness as this is a very sharp and such a great bird picture, Peter. Quite different from what you have shown us before but it is great to be able to take different styles of pictures. Great DOF & great colours & details on the bird. Excellent!

Sorry, my bag is empty!!!

Beautiful shot, Peter! For that kind of shot, the background is as much important as the subject, and you did very well here. Fun to be able to use the equipment to its limits! Congrats!

Hi Peter, I always wonder too, birds should be free, I think. Then again there are breeding programs in those places which helps birds almost extinct.

Great sharp perfect shot.

Marleen

Crisp and clear good DOF handling - TFS :)

Excellent photo Peter! Looks very similar to my Brown Snake Eagle photo.

Love the look in his eye!

HI Peter, your lens is very sharp, and for 800 ISO, this shot is surprisingly detailed and clear. Nice POV and composition. Nicely done .... Sam

The posture of the falcon, the soft background colours and the superb clarity combine to make this a fantastic photo Peter. Congrats!

Amazing clarity and sharpness along with great colour definition. Just love this shot. Magestic and focused as these beautiful animals are. :)
