[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Wanted to post today as its a special anniversary for me. Completed 29 years service in my current job today. So celebrated by getting wet through trying to capture a couple of images.

What with the sleet, hail, rain and wind, I'm amazed I managed to get six shots. This is up the Ettrick Valley near my home in Selkirk. Its a beautiful spot full of photographic opportunities.

Peter

Hi pete.

Congrats for 29 years and congrats for this masterpiece. A joy to look at. Colours are spot on. Well done.

Sf.

Beautiful lighting on the hills which brings out every curve and dip. Such a shame about the sky. The brightness of the sky dilutes the rich colours of the land. Hold a piece of card on the monitor to hide the sky and see what I mean. Crop out the sky and let the natural curves of the land form the picture

Hello Peter.
Picture post card perfect.Love the shot and your presentation. The light and shade has created a dream like scene. The wandering stream captures attention with the sunlight picking uo sections right through the shot. Well Done.TFS. Kind regards, Robert

Beautiful landscape. The light strikes the hills in just the right way. I also like the viewpoint placing the sheep pecfectly. Terrific photo.

Nice study on light, Peter! For some reason, I don't mind the sky that much. It gives the total experience from almost darkness (just look at the sheep) to pure brightness. Quite interesting effect. Nice job! And congrats on your tenure!

Wow Peter, what LIGHTS! Amazing shot of a very, very beautiful landscape with great depth in the composition, down the hill into the valley and hushing to the hills in the backrground.
My congratulations for your 29th yr. of service btw, take care, Hauke

Eeeeh, only thing disturbs a bit in y eyes is the frame, just in black would light up the landscape's colours much more, but regardless, a brillant shot.

Hi Peter,

Congratulations on your 29 years service, Hope you enjoyed it (as far as work goes) and are having a party to celebrate :)

Nice landscape picture here with good composition and wonderful colour tones over the rolling hills. I do think the sky and far mountain region are a little bright, but sometimes the lighting really can be this difficult. Nice shot Peter

John

Beautiful light on this beautiful landscape, Peter. So much details that I could sit here and look at it for hours and still find little things. Excellent!

Congratulations on the anniversary!!!

Hi Peter,
A stunning photo. You have really captured the interplay of light on differently coloured fields. Only problem is the sky, which is too bright IMO. You could either have cropped it or tinted it. But that is minor. This photo is really special.
Sunil

Fantastic view witgh fantastic lights! Congratulations!

Hi Peter,

This is a lovely photo!
The landscape looks fantastic covered half with shades and half with sun light. Nice POV. Well done on the composition!

Hello Peter, Nice Scottish landscape! It's like a green carpet laid on the hills :) TfS
cheers

I believe your pic is a celebration... well done!

Hello Peter!

Very nice composition here with great tones and colors. These sheeps at the far left are adding life to your photo.

Congratulations for this very special anniversary. Quite an accomplishement knowing how precarious the jobs are these days.

Cheers!

Still dont know how you do it, Great shot, beatiful composition here, especially the hints of the burn, they appear at just sufficient intervals to pull the eye right up into the shot to the hill in the background. Nice lighting too.

Hi Peter, beautiful lanscape with interesting lines and perspective. TFS.
Dean.

Something out of a fairytale and very close to my vision of Tolkiens Shire.

Beautiful landscape Peter. The lighting is superb, with the soft tones taking on a sort of glow. The rows of trees / hedges across the fields add a nice touch too, as do the sheep in the left hand corner. Congrats on your work milestone too.

Wow Peter, this is a gorgeous shot - the light and shadows are so powerful and really stand out. Peaceful and serene. A nice spot to celebrate and contemplate 29 years of service. And now for a career change, as an ambassador of the great Scottish country side landscape. Have a great day ...
Sam

An amazing landscape, Peter.
Rightly rewarded by so many points.
For me the framing is slightly destracting.
I still wish I would have made this posting.

Long time no see pal... spectacular scene. Lost of nice spots to get into details. Framing works well, but would have liked it a bit thiner.

Très chouette foto !!! Superbe profondeur de champ, qui va jusqu'aux rayons du soleil. Les couleurs sont splendides.
Mais franchement dommage pour ce cadre qui enlève du charme à ta foto.
