[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the last shot I will be uploading of the Floors Castle Horse Trials near Kelso, for the moment at least. As I have previously said it was a very hot day and photographers were thick on the grass and I caught three with this shot, as I was focusing on the horse and rider they are slightly out of focus. Panning is very hard but I knew what I wanted so followed this horse and rider as soon as it hit the water and caught this shot just as he was attempting to jump out.

Anyone with a interest in horses would certainly have enjoyed there day out at the horse trials, the organisation of which was tremendously well done.

For anyone wanting to see the map please look at my other water hazard pic.

Shot in raw added frame re-sized and sharpened the uploaded to Tl I hope that you like it and feel free to leave critiques and comments.

Hi Jon,
Again, another nice action shot, I know how hard it is to get a blured background, panning and getting the subject in focus. Good job, well done. Can you identify any of the photographers? there seems to be a few TL contributors there. TFS

Hi Jon,
Another spectacular shot from this event. Perfectly frozen once again with the fast shutter speed. Very rich and natural colours throughout the whole photo, a pleasure to look at.

HI Jon
Killing two birds with one stone.....I think you really did great, the horses muddy trails and the rider out of his saddle. A good action shot.

Hello Jon, good action shot, especially looking at the shapes of the water from each step the horse took.
Not easy in the middle of the day, but I think that with the sun behind you, you'd have got better shots of the horses and riders than the other photographers.

Hello Jon.
Nice action shot of the races. Panning is well done.! Bravo.
Reminds me, here at the weekend will be the traditional concours Hippique and horse shows. Always nice to watch it.

Hi Jon

A good decisive moment on the jumping horse with excellent simulataneous motion blur & sharpness in differing parts of the image. Have a great weekend!

Hi Jon,

Great action shot. You've frozen the action very well with the selected shutter speed. Very sharp and colorful. The photographers are a real bonus for the theme.

Nice stop action shot here Jon! I love the water the horse is kicking up! Nice posting for the theme and nice bike in your intro page. My bike is in the shop! B-(.... they think it's the cam chain....BUT...if it's worse, she is totalled....and she is a beauty, but not worth fixing...I'm sad.... But maybe they can fix it!
Nice work!

Hi Jon.

Beautiful actionphoto, well captured at the right moment with much movement in it....and .. the photografer on the BG.
Nice shot!
Regards, Marga

Bonjour Jon,

Nice contribution to the theme. It shows photographers in action. For this shot, I would say they were better placed than you. Getting action from the front looks always better than from behind. But I bet it was not they only obstacle, and you were perfectly located to shoot from another angle. Nice work and TFS.

Well done great shot of all the horsey action.

Hi Jon,
A real good job of panning on the horse's movement through the water jump a really good action shot. Not sure if your POV was the best, due to the people on the sidelines, one person is on the horses head & the lady is close to the jockey's head. You may not have been aware of them, being caught up in the action of panning. I have done a WS let me know what you think.
Regards
Ron
