Really nice shot Jonny. The colors are so warm and rich .. Love the fence in the foreground, and then the stone wall that meanders off into the distance over the little rolling hill. what a beautiful country you live in!!
Trudy

Hello,
I love pines, beautyful silhouette of this tree, warm colors and nice view in the BG

Hello Jon,

This is one occasion when I think the central focal point works well as the drystone wall works at taking the gaze across the frame.
Good, sharp focus and rich saturated colours.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jon,
Bryan and you have some beautiful countryside surrounding you in the Borders, you portray it well in your pictures. The colours of the border sky is beautiful as is the colour of the country below it. The tree makes a good focal point but I think I would be inclined to have taken this as a horizontal shot with the tree to one side as opposed to a vertical with the tree in the middle but that is only my opinion, the dry stone wall leads your eye into the image beautifully. I seem to remember one of these shots from the dim and distant past Jon This is a nice shot showing the lovely countryside and the lonesome pine I think it was Laurel and Hardy who went on that particular trail many years ago ;-)
warm regards
David

Hi Jon,
you'll be giving WS on how to do HDR images, you really have got it down well.I like how this grand tree takes up much of the frame & how the stone wall leads the eye into the scene. Good strong composition. Where did all the trees go? building ships, houses, farmland?it must have been quite a forest to see.

Hi Jon,
This could be a scene from New Zealand, we have heaps of pine, and the odd dry stone walls.
Nice composition, nice lighting. Looks much more natural than most HDRs posted on TL.
Say G'day to Derek for me.
Cheers,
Pete.

dear Jon Fair,
a tasteful picture of the lonely pine tree,
the right dead tree, the long stone fence, green yards, distant mild mountains and clear blue sky with floating white cloud, all make one nostalgic atmosphere for this tree.
its tilt figure and a little yellowish colors make the tree like one old watcher man in the field...
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa
