i pass the view nearly every day when i go down the town from my house so thought i would try a shot from over the wall .The church is known as the auld (old)kirk in my hometown of Selkirk the cementry is still used now and again .This is the church where Sir William Wallace was crowned protector of Scotland in the year 1290 the town of Selkirk was once the main town of ettrick forest which was the hunting ground for kings and nobles of Scotia there is a lot of history in the kirk yard and is well worth a walk round
i took numerous shots and decidied to upload this one one or two little tweaks in p/shop elements seven befor uploading ty for looking

Hi Bryan,
You've got a fantastic shot here, with fabulous colors...it looks more like an aquarel painting than a photo!
Composition is marvelous but I hate the blurred massive wall in the FG.
I really wish to see this grave yard with this wonderful scen without the obstraction!
I give you full credit for the beautiful tones and the scenery.
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Bryan,
I like the POV for this shot. The colors are nicely saturated and the those clouds look as if it could start pouring at any time. This has a painting like effect. Nice shot.
Regards,
Kevin

Good Evening, Bryan!

Another wonderful shot from Scottish landscape! The colors very rich in green, are so soft and soothing to the eyes. The colors of the stones are just amazing sharp and well defines and stand great against the green landscape all around. The sharpness and POV are just well done.
Great composition.

thanks and regards,
Paras Bhalla

PS: Would love to award a smiley but pardon me as I am already crossed my daily point-limit.

Bryan,
Wonderful capture...sharp,good light, a little sad... but a great composition!
Congratulation!
Mariana

Hi Bryan,
I'll give you full marks for your composition, your POV gives the viewer a fantastic look at the churchyard with a hint of the house styles of the town with their slate roof's & clay chimneys & a panoramic view of the surrounding hillside with those threatening clouds overhead, but I think you may have captured a more vibrant image, if you had used an f/11 or f/16 & had every detail tack sharp,it looks too soft IMHO & the HDR effect seems to be slightly oversaturated.

best regards

Ron

Hi Bryan,
I partly agree with Ron here. I find that rocks like this are good subjects for HDR processing, but sometimes the textures can be so coarse that they become a little too good. I like the way the light is breaking through the clouds though. Personally I would have preferred the stone wall in the FG to also be in focus, but this is a very good attempt.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Bryan,
Mel Gibson has a lot to answer for....as does Longshanks, Beautiful view caught well with a great PoV and Dof, details and colour are amazing with great management of the HDR process. TFS and Cheers - a Wallace supporter

Interesting POV The gravestones and hills are good but the wall is too softly focussed and IMHO is a distraction. The sky is dramatic and border quite effective TFS
warm regards
David

Hi Bryan, the right one...
I like the effect of the blurred old wall in foreground cutting the visual of the whole photo
The tombs look in not real place as mystic dimension
and beautiful frame in background with the hills
wonderful image, and waiting same pp work on Garda lake places!!
soon?
ciao

Lucio

Such an interesting view Bryan .. and to think you get to see this everyday!! Very interesting colors throughout ... love the lush green grass .. it just jumps out from the photo. I might have cropped up a little higher from the bottom .. I find the blurred rock wall in the foreground to be just a tad distracting. Still a beauty though.

Hi Bryan

The saturation seems about right to me. My guess is that it rains a lot in these parts & the grass really is a lush green. The shallow dof works well here with the oof fg wall. Good repetition of the gravestones. Tfs!
