This is another shot from my day out with fellow member Derona and another shot of Neidpath Castle. From where I took this shot I was getting eaten by the midge and about any thing with wings I think so only took this shot the hurriedly moved to another spot. The castle is strategically placed and has great views of the river and the road. When I uploaded the other shot taken at this time I noticed the face of an animal can you spot it it is there and what do you see.

Shot in raw re-sized and sharpened in pspx1.

All c and c's welcome.

Hi Jon,
Another great shot of the border castle, well done for braving the midgies to get this....I have heard if you sour your blood with whiskey that helps, and with auto focus, not a problem! Colours, Pov, and framing all great, the little bit of tree coming in at the top breaks the sky up to. Cant see the animals face tho but..
Cheers
Bri

Hi Jon,
are these mentions of midgies & things with wings that attack & bite,a scare tactic, to keep this gorgeous area to yourself
& free of tourists:)
It won't be long before you'll get a phone call to get your images printed into postcards, your certainly doing a great job of showing off this area in great detail & colours.
Nicely done.

Hello Jon.
Very well captured and composed picture.
Natural frame looks great here.
Interesting detalis of the castle presented.

Janek Kloss

Like this one a lot Jon, great colours and detail, composition is slightly central for some of the purists.

But it works for me.

Like the natural framing and the sky detail too.

Nice one.

dear Jon,
clear and beautiful picture of wonderful old castle on the hill.
light and colours are perfect,
the air between whole hill and your location looks very cool in summer,
and this old stone tower is like watching us, in my feeling.
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa

Hello Jon,

Midges apart, this looks like a beautiful part of the country and well worth you efforts to record it. The castle is a spectacular focal point, sitting impressively on the hiltop. I think a slight shift to the right would remove its central positioning and improve composition.
I like the quality of your focus and the inclusion of the branches as a natural frame.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jon

Fine view of Neidpath Castle, much better views from this side of the river.
Like the framing with the tree above, the central position of the Castle looks fine.
I still have some shots from this day to upload.

Reagrds Derek

Midges are something I do not miss about Scotland although in Canada we have a wider variety of biting insects but most do not gather in swarms like the midge.Nice shot Jon with good sharpness and colouring
warm regards
David
