another shot from my trip to Bemersyde on monday this is Bemersyde house one of the many excellent houses in the scotish borders this house sits in lovely gardens and is well worth a vist also there are many nice walks by the riverside lots of photo opportunitys to be had
shot in raw and resized used a topaz filter to bring out the details a brief note of the house below ty for looking

A country house lying in the Scottish Borders, Bemersyde lies 1¼ miles (2 km) northeast of Newtown St. Boswells and close to the River Tweed. The house incorporates a rectangular tower, built around 1535, burned ten years later and subsequently restored. The tower was greatly extended in the 18th Century and Sir Walter Scott was a frequent visitor, much enjoying the view from nearby Bemersyde Hill (Scott's View). In 1921, the house was bought by the government and presented by a grateful nation to Field Marshal Douglas Haig, commander of the Western Front during World War I. The gardens are regularly open during the summer.

Well you sure do have a lot of really OLD buildings in your country .. and the grass .. so lush looking! Too much rain maybe:)
Very nice comp with the roadway coming in from bottom left. Too bad the sky wasn't so great, but still a very nice shot Bryan.

Hi Bryan,
I love the Scottish architecture, really solid construction to put up with the elements and Reivers....and English..... Nice PoV on this house with great detail in the brickwork, as Trudy comments the sky could have been a bit more dramatic to add to the image but it is a great shot as is. Cheers
Brian

Hi Bryan,

Nice architectural shot of the old country house. Excellent POV, with good sharpness and DOF. The colors are wonderful, TFS.

building very attractive. Crude, simple architectural block set in the green. Very well done.
