[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is not intended as a work of art (yes I am aware of the sign in the middle of the picture, and yes, I am also aware of the cable on the ground), but purely as an exercise in trying to get the most out a picture using layers. I occasionally try to use HDR tonemapping software buy I am rarely satisfied with the results. This time I simply made two separate conversions from the original raw file; one exposed for the ground, the other for the sky, and used a layer mask to place one on top the other. I actually used the layer twice, until I was happy with the blend. I also used curves to touch up the contrast and then sharpened.

Oh this in the South-West of Lewis, in the area of Uig. The hills are those same hills I have featured previously, but here we are in among them. Today I saw them from the other side, in South Harris. Maybe I'll post one from that trip one day.
