[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The only time I actually visited Carloway Broch was in the last few days of my time on Lewis. It sits outs on the West of the Island, looking out towards the Atlantic ocean. This pathway leads from the parking area to the Broch itself and I shot this as I walked away back towards my car.

I made two conversions from the Raw file; one for the sky, one for the foreground, both in mono. I used my normal layer mask method to quickly blend the two images, and then adjusted the levels on the forground before doing a little dodging and burning and sharpening.

Hi David!
Nice B&W shot with good POV and I like the atmosphere of your photo for mystery.
Thanks, Csilla

Great work! A powerful use of HDR technique. Great use of the wide lens also to deliver a spectaculr scene.

Very nice black and white shot. Contrasts and details are great. And the dark, moody feeling is cool. The clouds in this shot are very interesting to look at. Great PP work!
However.. I would have added a thin white line before adding the frame, just so that the darkness in the shot doesn't "bleed" into the frame. Thanks for sharing!
