[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Time is flying so fast. I can't believe it's now eight months since I took this photograph.

This is another image of the ancient appeal of the Western Isles; standing stones. These are not the famous Callanish stones on Lewis, but a small set of 3 stones on the small island of Bernera, overlooking the bridge joining the island to the "mainland" of Lewis. The mood of this place really caught me and I tried to capture the feeling of these stones being almost as old as the landscape. A sort of Tolkienian icon of bygone ages.

Simple raw conversion, mono using channel mixer and and tweaking of the tone curve to enhance contrast.

Hi David.

Very nice capture. I like the perspective and the contrast. I also enjoy the difference of shape and shades of each stone.

Did you meet any hobbit ? ;-)
