My first attempt at a High dynamic range image. Used PhotomatixPro and it certainly puts a different perspecive on the final image.

A little tweaking in photoshop, very little just a minute alteration of curves.

Please feel free to comment.

thanks

Peter

You seem to have got some "POP" from what looks like very flat light Peter, nice P/P work with a good solid composition

Hi Peter,Ilike your composition with that pond & it';s reflections ,also the position of the ruins.Your sky adds a
nice mood to the scene, and feeling of foreboding,as it looks like a storm is on the way.

First HDR I do notice on this site that doesn't looks too artificial. Great attempt Peter, fits well to the general mood of the landscape. Good job done, thx, H.:)

Beautiful landscape. Great composition.

Maciej

nice landscape.....tfs

Hi Peter,

Great composition, lighting, etc. The subject is very attractive and makes one dream.

I think that in PP you could increase contrast in order to enhance the colours by making them less gray and dull - but otherwise they are great.

;)

André

Really like the composition & colours. HDR has lifted the sky & given the picture great depth of tones.

I live in Hawick & I've never been there!! Must go & visit. Nice photo opportunities obviously.

Robin

Hi Peter,

Looks very good to me, the colours aren't overblown and the sky has developed well.
I find when you think it's OK take it back a little more. To me this looks very natural as if you held the sky with a couple of gray grads, well done.

The HDR wotsit has certainly given this shot a wonderful, brooding sky - full of dark manace that fits in well with the overall scene. All very "American Werewolf in London" - love it!

Hi Peter, nice atmospheric shot with moody lighting, well executed and good POV. Best regards, Les

interesting composition. nice pov and composition

tfs!

Hi Peter, nice tower here. HDR can be a great tool to use here and there but it's so easy to overdo it. I think this has gone a little too far in that direction where it starts looking unnatural. I do not mean to dishearten you for a first go at HDR it's great!

I wonder if it were possible to get closer to that water and get more of a reflection of the tower in it?

Nice work.

hello Peter,
dramatic and moody image. Reading your note I now know what HDR stands for. But I don't know much else I'm afraid, like how you get this effect for example.
regards
Bev

I'm a HUGE fan of HDR and it CAN be accomplished without an HDR program. Really nice shot and I looked through your gallery and you have quite a talent! Keep up the good work!

Hi Peter

I like the diffused light & muted colours in this superb rural landscape. The old castle & fg pond add a lot to the compo. Tfs!

Hi Peter,
great shot. And frankly, beautiful landscape photography on your whole profile.
