This is a detail from a statue called
PEOPLE LIKE US
This bronze sculpture of a young local couple with their dog was sculpted by John Clinch in 1993 and celebrates the people who lived and worked locally in Cardiff Bay.In contrast to the distinct ethnic neighbourhoods of New York, the docklands community of Tiger Bay as Butetown uses to be called became a melting pot as residents of many races and backgrounds mixed together and intermarried. However a recent quote from a local resident shows that not all is well in the redevelopment of the area...
"I live in Butetown and it used to be a place where our community WAS one, but now the council are moving in rich people from all over and all the docks people are getting moved out. It's turned into some kind of Butlins on the weekends with all the pubs and restaurants Butetown's not the same!!!!" |

sorry but I don't find this interesting. but it has a nice blurry background, the lighting is also ok. it's just that it isn't very much of a good subject.
hope you don't mind my opinion
