[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture was taken before I got a decent camera, its was taken with a cheap "point n shoot" olmypus. I always liked the effect though and when I get a momment I may try and get something simaler on my good camera. It was on the Beach on the north coast of wales on a very cold January day. As always all constructive critisim is very welcome.

Hi Tom,

A very nice minimalistic image. I like the mood and colors. TFS.

Kiran.

Hi Tom,
You've done well here with your "cheap" camera. The composition is excellent and the exposure works very well here. I like the tone of the blues. Great capture!

-JD

Very good shot. I like the way the wet sand is reflecting the sky.

Hello Tom,
Well, perhaps your camera was not decent, but your picture IS! To me, this photo conveys a feeling of space and serenity, enhanced by a good composition. I also like the footprints in the wet sand, that give a sense of direction. If there had not been these footprints, I would have cropped a bit more the left side (1 centimeter, just to reduce the washed out light of the sun - a bit too washed out IMHO). A pity too that the horizon is not straight. Maybe I'll do a quick WS to correct that. But overall, this is a good photo with a strong mood.
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hello my friend

Well for a cheap camera you did extreemly well. Its all aout seeing the shot before you take it and you certainly have an eye for a good image. Just one suggestion. If you do try a similar shot with your new camera try and get the horison straight. It can be changed later with PP work but its nice to get it level first time

Lovely work

TFS regards Helen

hello Tom,
nice and simple shot. Like the composition and the colours. You have a nice blue here creating a tranquil ad pensive mood. Nothing wrong with a point and shoot Olympus. Most of my pictures on site were taken with the same.

Amazing blue!!!! :)

Framing, light, reflections, shadow, footprints all combine to make a great photograph, just goes to show you don't necessarily need expensive kit! Cheers, Rewind

Hi Tom, very nice shot. Great compo and colours. Well done.

Regards Chris

An excellent compostion - great backdrop. I would strenghten the compostion by cropping closer (fifth below and quarter right) but that's just me. An inspiring shot - well done!

le bleu de cette image est exeptionnel, tout se confond en douceur dans des teintes de bleu non identique qui donne une superbe image d'émotion, j'aime.. réal.

Hi Tom
Expensive equipment can make a good photo better, but it can't make a photo good in the first place. For that you need a good eye, and you obviously have one of those. The colours and the composition are terrific, but what I particularly like is how you've captured the gait of the model, which seems slightly laboured, suggesting that maybe being beside the seaside is a labour of love rather than any source of wild excitement. The fact that she is fully clothed certainly suggests weather that is less than tropical. Something an Australian will always notice!
Great stuff!
cheers
Stephen

Hi Tom:)
Really good picture, great perspective, compo and colors:)

Hi Tom,
I love this true sea blue shot with a great PoV.Goes to show even a Point and shoot can do wonders.:)
The subject walking away on the left adds to the drama of the composition.
BRavo and very well done.
TFS & Cheers

Hi Tom, Very good blue tones throughout this photo. The horizon is virtually level, important in this sort of image. Effective placement of the person. TFS. Murray.
