[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Arguably one of the best mountain vista's in North Wales, The Moelwyn Mountains seen looking out over the Afon Glaslyn from the Cob, Porthmadog.
From left to right they are Cnicht, Moelwyn Mawr and Moelwyn Bach.

Hi Darren,

Wonderful view, but needs drama.

I posted a workshop.

Dirk

Hi Darren
Certainly a beautiful spot, it's breathtaking! I think Dirk did well in his workshop, although the contrast and saturation adjustments are possibly a little too much.
Although I keep throwing "rule of thirds" out there as if it's the only rule I know, it can make a huge difference in scenic shots like this. Rather than placing the horizon in the centre of the photograph, place it at the lower 1/3rd, or upper 1/3rd of the frame instead. It gives the shot instant added impact by creating an imbalance that is more appealing and interesting to the eye.
Many photographers use gradients etc. to add interest - because as spectacular as nature is, photography succeeds when it represents what we look at rather than what we actually see, if that makes any sense?

Anyway keep the shots coming!
