Evenin' all,
Today's picture shows a very small railway locomotive on the Fairbourne Railway near Barmouth in North Wales. I like this one because of the expression on the driver's face!
The FR was opened in 1895 as a 2' gauge horse drawn tramway, and was originally built to carry materials for the construction of Fairbourne village from the Cambrian Coast railway station. It's been used as a tourist attraction since 1916 and its fortunes have fluctuated wildly, to say the least.
This engine is a half size replica of the Lynton and Barnstaple railway's tank engine "Yeo" and was built in 1978.
All comments and critiques welcome, as ever.

It isent the size but how to use it what matters.
Nice photo, sharp, great POV, well done and TFS.
Regards
Jens.

Hi John,
I like steam engines big or small and you have caught this one well, I like the POV here.
Tfs Andy

Hi John,

My favorite bit is the bloke in the left hand (as we are looking at it) window he looks like he is in a mood because he wanted to be the driver. :-(

Cheers

Tom

An interesting shot and a very informative note. Were you using a long lens? I guess so because of the foreshortening of the rails and the accentuated bends in the rails. If it was Blue and Black instead of Green and Black it would be Thomas the Tank engine! Cheers, Dad
