While in the the UK in June and July, we went to Wales. It rained most of the time in Wales!

Here I was hanging out the window, (which they told us not to do!) but I wanted to get a pic of the other train coming down, and passing us here on our way up Mount Snowdon..It was a pretty grey old day and the more we climbed the colder and more misty it got.. I didnt see the ladies face at the time of taking the photo ( I would have maybe composed it a bit better and got more of her in)..I was just quickly trying to get our train and the other.

Since 1896, visitors from around the world have travelled on Snowdon Mountain Railway. Trains scale the highest mountain in England and Wales(1085m) where Snowdon boasts dramatic landscape and scenery. This unique railway is one of the most popular visitor attractions in North Wales. The Summit of Snowdon, at 3,560ft (1085m), is the highest mountain in England and Wales. info taken from the internet site: http://www.snowdonrailway.co.uk/images/homepage/main.jpg

Hi Dawn,

I fully agree with the reminder of not hanging out the window . . it's too dangerous my dear . . specially there is a train from opposite direction which tends to make both trains are getting closer when they are passing . .
But it's a lovely moment and nicely captured . .
Great and fantastic shot . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

hello Dawn
a daring shot captured here
it is not advised to hang out but i can say that it was worth as we have this wonderful POv with us.
nice colours
fine scene, so many things in the same composition, beautiful landscape at the back with lovely colourful foreground, wonderful reflection and a hint of a screaming lady.
alltogether a beautiful shot

Hello Dawn
The red of the train gives a nice contrast with green hillside. Leaning out of train windows was once a national pastime in the UK, and everyone still does it on old railways!
Regards, Leslie

Hello Dawn,

It was a dangerous thing to do but then, the best things sometimes involve a certain amount of danger.

The resulting shot is excellent.
The composition is perfect.
I just love the contrast between the step landscape on one side and the reflected train on the other.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

hi dawn,

i like this, shows invention and rebelliousness lol.
good pov lol, good lighting and colours. details pretty sharp considering the moving train car.

regards c.d.

Hello Dawn, I agree with the others that perhaps you were living dangerously, but for this result, it was worth it.
I like the way that the side of your train partitions the shot.Good sharp details all round.
I like that we can see through the window into the carriage and also have the wonderful view of Snowdonia.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Been there, done that.

Hi Dawn,

We also took the train, but our son with girl-friend went down the mountain walking.
It was well worth hanging out the train's window, because you really captured it all here.
Excellent capture of landscape and weather.

take care,

Good job with those reflections Dawn. Lovely colour and detail and regardless of the gloom the sky and the view down the valley came out well,
David

Hi Dawn,
Which photographer doesn't take risks, sometimes? My husband hates that! :)
Your POV is superb, giving some colorful atmosphere despite the rainy day!!
Nice composition and perspective.
Bravo! Annie

You're lucky you've still got your head Dawn. . . You are such a bad influence on us! It is just too dangerous - yeah, right!
Actually, I like seeing the lady with her mouth open talking or screaming!
It's a good POV showing us a scene not many of us ever get to see, apart from the engine driver.
Thanks mate
Janice

Wonderful sky,lovely composition.
Congratulation,
best regards

Hello Dawn!

May be dangerous and risky , but well worthed .The distance between trains after all was safe, unless another guy coming the opposite way , would have had the same idea.

Seriously , superb composition, with details in out, from left to right .
Bravo!
Robert
