[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I believe a lot of us are fascinated by the possibilities our tiny digital cameras offer us to take candid shots of normal people doing all kinds of normal things in normal situations. But it is of course a fine line we are walking between on the one hand creating photographs and documenting life in general, and on the other hand transgressing into that realm of privacy where none of us wish to be caught.
Photos in a public place like a pub can of course never be that private. And after all Sylvie Fondacci's lovely photos of people in the Paris Metro and elsewhere I wanted to share this impression from a Welsh pub with you - as an hommage to Sylvie's inimitable style.
Technically I did my best to salvage what I could from a handheld shot without flash in a dark room. But I liked the concentrated look on the guy's face.

I think you could have left out that part of the table in the bottom, Per. To me it serves no use. Also, on the girl's trousers there's a stray bright pixel which I find distracting.
Ok Frank, enough nit-picking! As you say, Sylvie's style is quite unique. But not so inimitable. As fot this shot, I like how it turned out. There's some motion blur in his face, but who cares? It's an action shot, after all.
You could also try to stand up and just ask them if they mind you taking their portraits ;p.
(Hey, I'm not a hero either when it comes to that!).
