York Minster Nave

I am also currently posting shots of York Minster on TrekEarth (there is another shot of this area with a different POV there).
I took a tripod with me and used it for this shot.
This shot is taken from the West front facing down towards the East end.
Taken from the Net...
'In 1220 construction of the current Minster began. Archbishop Gray and the Dean and Chapter decided to rebuild the previous Norman Minster on a scale to rival Canterbury.
The South Transept was the first section to be rebuilt between 1220 and 1250 with the North Transept both started and finished a few years later.
The transepts were built in the Early English Gothic manner.
The rebuilding of York Minster that began with the transepts went on almost continuously for two hundred and fifty years'. |

It's fantastic, love the symmetry, but ooouuhh that light, M, (*__*)
Wauw you must feel so little standing there. Briljant picture.
Symmetry upset by human presence but I like those people and it's obvious why.
Nice POV, light, comp, sharpness and patience.
Hi Stephen,
Very nice diminishing perspective. Nice POV. Wonderful colors. TFS.
