Can't believe we are almost at the end of January. Today was bitterly cold with frost everywhere. But the sun was out and the mist was on the hills. Took this shot near to Newtown St Boswells looking over towards Melrose. Beautiful hazy light.

Converted to black and white and added a sepia tone.

Hi Peter,

In your own words, "A Cracker,!!!"
Excellent work on all counts. The conversion and sepia are well suited for this Scene, Beautiful. How's the little green star? I don't give much of them. ;)

Mike

Hi Peter,
A slowly rolling landscape in several layers... I love the lines and the fading colours! Very relaxing to look at, nicely composed with great details...

The layers are what give this picture so much depth! Nice sepia conversion and I like how th colours disappear as we move into the BG. Lovely work and TFS!!

Great landscape Peter, good idea to convert to sepia. The lighting and composition are perfect. I may have been tempted to clone out the telegraph pole but still a great shot.
Thanks for sharing.
Michael.

Hi Pete

This i DO like .The sepia gives magic to this scene. Sometimes we forget to look at different tones and this just shows all that you have used this method to the full. Well done, you must be very pleased with this.

SF.

Excellent Peter and good choice of conversion. Lovely rolling fields, great perspective. I once worked on a mixed grain farm and during seeding time I was forever amazed at heavy frosts on freshly tilled soil. TFS

I don't know, but I think I would have preferred this as a crispy black and white frost landscape with no sepia. I can sort of see the haze and that tree on the left is really sharp, bt the sepia throws me. How about posting it without sepia as workshop?

Hi Peter,
Hi love sepia tone, it goes very well wth English conutryside.

Great mood Peter. Nice composition, lovely lines leading your eye around the image. Good job !

Yesterday I ran out of points, so I came back today. I think this is one of your very best work I have seen. Love the scene with the rolling hills, and the different layers in nature. You are so lucky to live in your country. The tree placement is perfect. I also like how the layers seem to be darker in the foreground, then get lighter and lighter.
Excellent composition and sepia tone. I think you are a master at landscape shots Peter.

Looks well in sepia - well handled landscape _ TFS :)

Very lovely landscape, masterfully captured, very nice sepia tones. Great work!

Hi Peter,
Great shot, I like the sepia tone, its not too heavy, and just strong enough pull out some of the detail of the trees which really finishes of the composition. Nice.
Andy

Wow! Beautiful composition Peter, a beautiful scenery. I like a lot the tone of it, very well done! 7/7!!
Best regards

HELLO PETER!
The layeres are impressive. The landscape simply takes my breath away!
You did a wonderful job, you capture all the intensity of the tones. Converting it into b&w and adding a sepia tone was defenetly a great idea! I'm sure that the original looks good as well :)
Congratulations.
