| Today, trying to follow the kids pic from yesterday is not easy!! This is one of a series taken at a local play area. I just caught my nephew emerging from a tunnel and like the composition so thought I'd share it. Kids faces are great - so full of life! |

Great photo! I love the intensity of the colour played out in the expression of the face. Looked through your portfolio. I like the swans as well, some great work in there!

Beautiful expression you have captured on your nephew's face, Caroline. He seems happy in his play. Nicely composed with his head looking down and interesting treatment of hte background to create some very bright colours. I am not certain if I like what it did to his face as I think I would have prefer to see it in his natural state. Otherwise, very nicely done!
Gilette (Gillette?) would be interested in seeing such a young boy in need of their fine products. What happened?
The basics are -
Subject matter - good.
Composition - very good
Classic black frame - good
Exposure - (or is it pp? blown out areas on face and hat.
PP - .... what went wrong? The background demands as much, if not more, attention than the subject
You get the green monster but the Manila Jury came down heavily on the negative aspects with a 5.5/10. OOOer!
I've only just twigged as to what is going on here. "I'm coming! " Got it. Hide and seek still popular even in GameBoy days.
