[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken at the British Museum, in Mummy Room 63, a place full of glittery plexiglass display cases for more well displayed mummies than I have ever seen. It was thronged with people of all ages, school classes with their teacher, college students, and tourists from everywhere. A wonderous place for learning and for photography. For another view of this gallery, look here

ISO 1600, focal length 34.0, cropped, framed. Not particularily filed in the right place, but then there is no category for photos taken in anthropological museums.

When I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Scottish Guy next time?
The viewer with the scarf is such an important inclusion and the busy-ness of the other visitors is good to see. Nicely angled main character, who doesn't look too comfortable on that 'pillow'. Muted colouring is good and the reflections are not an issue, in fact they add to the environment. Might have cloned out that tiny intrusion of a table edge bottom left but it's 'Too Late Now'.
More Dead Fish coming!

Hi Lois- since we haven't had any dead fish from Kit in a couple days, a mummy is the next best thing! I like this shot, the different people in the crowd, from school kids, teens and adults and the quality of the detail of the mummies is really good despite the difficulty of the plexiglass! Nice presentation!

Best wishes,
Steve

I suppose those old mummies wouldn't be very satisfied knowing that they are exposen in pleksiglass instead of being down, deep in the dark of their pyramides....
The photo is so interesting with all that different elements...people, mummies, glass...such a contrast between the death and the life...

What a great title! Very clever! :D I like this one a lot - the guy's expression and arms held behind his back - the obvious hubbub in the room - mixture of what's living and what's not - cool reflections that add to the confusion!

Excellent, Lois!
Gayle :)

Museum is interesting place to visit. I love the perspective of this picture. Your note give me the insight of this picture.

OUps... cette photo est surprenante, et très bien vue !
Bravo.
Marie

Unusual and disturbing shot. Well composed, with verticals and obliques. The plexiglass separates the living from the dead. The disturbing part is that we, as viewers of the photograph, feel that we are on the "dead" part of the plexiglass. In my opinion, this creates tension and makes for a powerful image.
