To start off with, this picture was like my last post. Bright orange with dust going everywhere and looking impressive. I put this picture as my desktop background on XP and when closing the laptop down, noticed the completely different aspect that black & white gives to the picture.

It now just looks superb (IMO), looking like the MX rider has just appeared through an explosion. Another shot from my days "work" (I can't believe I call it work!) at SMX near Horsham. I'm back there again this weekend, and it has been raining for 3 days now, hopefully the dust will have cut down a bit, and it'l make for some interesting mud splat shots :o)

PP Work;

Cropped some of the foreground track out
Unsharp mask of 60% added
Levels adjusted
Coverted to black & white
Curves adjusted to lighten up the dust cloud
frame added

** Original composition has been posted in the workshop

Hello Daniel !

Lots of motion and speed in this one. A real treat to the eye! I am adding it at once in my theme : favorite racing shots....
Cheers!
Robert

Awesome work, Daniel. You're right, in b&w it is filled with explosive action. The patterns of the dust really stand out. What a capture!

Hi Daniel,
Nice action shot here, you caught the moment very well. Yes it looks good in bw. Good PP works too.
Well done,
Salvu.

A brilliant composition full of action w2ith the dust making a great backdrop. It is a pity that the sharpness leaves a bit to be desired

Hello Daniel, you stopped the motion:-) Good job. The rider seems to me like a modern prince with the dusty pall...
