[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another experiment into the anti-art of using paintbrush scripts. This is also another (and the last) of my early evening series from Irving Street in Soho. With this one I wanted to see if a really not very good original (see workshop) could in any way be saved by some heavy post processing. I am not sure I would hang this painting on my wall - but it does beat the original photo, I think.

Technically it has become almost standard operational procedure: Cropping, resizing, clarifying and sharpening to get as much light and colour into the shot as possible. Then I start experimenting with the paintbrush scripts. And here it is trial and error until I am satisfied. Finally a frame that matches and resize again (on account of the frame). And then I mirrored the whole thing because I feel the eye has to enter from the left and be stopped by the mailbox on the right.

J'aime beaucoup cet aspect givré...bon travail..
bonne fin de semaine...

I like this effect, like looking through a window on a rainy day. It gives it an abstract look but still we can see what it is.
But the frame... I don't really like, it's too complicated and the colors don't really match.

Very artistic, like looking through an incredibly piece of wavy glass, nice work.

This has such an "old fashioned" feel to it. Sorta like an old oil painting. I love what you are doing in your PP work. TFS....:O)

Nice painting! Much more interesting and nicer colors then the original. Seems like the night scenes work well with your process.
About the frame… Well it is too much in my opinion. A simple one will work better.

I like the "artsy" look of what you have done with this. Colours are lovely especially the red letterbox in the forground backed with street and shop lighting in the wet looking background. I don't care for the frame, it would maybe look good with a beige linen look or plain frame. Good pp ideas though.

This is a great painting Per! You are very good in this PP work. When seeing your original, it is amazing what you are able to do at your computer... Very good!

Great interpretation as an artphoto, Per. The mirroring makes a surprisingly big improvement.

The beautiful "red" of london....
The busses, the call-box and here the postbox. Indeed, the WS is not a very good one, but then we have TL, where we can "make it beautiful" and your experiment is, Per!
A romantic piece of art!
