[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yesterday I spent the day with my good friend "Stupid Steve", who was the birdman from my last posting. The event he had chosen to do was a bit different this time.
An alcohol fuelled night gave Steve the bright idea of crossing the English Channel to France and back on a giant inflatable banana. Odd enough by itself, but Steve was being towed by a very fast boat being driven by a partially sighted man!
I was lucky enough to get a place on the support boat, which seemed like a much safer place to be.

Steve has been raising money for the Hearing dogs for deaf people charity.
This stunt raised quite a bit of media coverage, so hopefully he'll get a few donations from the publicity.
Steve managed to get to France and back to one mile off the English coast before falling off, even after many attempts to get him off, just for the better picture opportunity!
I've added one of the failed attempts to remove Steve as a workshop.
If you want a look at more photos and videos of Steve, check out his website:

Thanks for looking, Enjoy the rest of the week.

Hi Alan,
a wonderful "action-shot", I like the white waves and the yellow boat - also the fisherman's boat in the back, it' so fresh and clear, thanks

Alan, I love the WS best!! But having the boat in the BG gives this a good look too. I hope he raised a good amount of $$$'s!!
Janice

I love the smile on his face in this picture!
Well composed shot with fresh colours and some nice detail. Personally I like the action shot in the workshop better - if nothing else for the story that he managed to stay on!
Thanks...Mark

Hello Alan,
Hehehehe... Incredible situation and an even more so story..!
Situation is well framed, I like the inclusion of the big ship in the back as it adds credibility to the scenery!
