Not i'm sure as the Artist intended but, artistic licence and all that.
Another Place consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.
The figures - each one weighing 650 kilos - are made from casts of the artistıs own body and are shown at different stages of rising out of the sand, all of them looking out to sea, staring at the horizon in silent expectation.
The artist is antony Gormley who was responsible for The Angel of the North, there has of late been a bit of controversy about the statues, they were originally scheduled to move to New York at the end of october, now the local people want them to stay, now the bureaucrats are involved who knows what will happen...

a great 'twist', I've seen many of this but I LOVE this one, great creativity, thanx, M, (*_*)

The accessories make it a little bit creepy - if it wasn't already! But I do like it - both the sculpture, and your capture of it.
Well composed, good placement in the frame etc.

Hi
Nicely you dressed him. The figure scooped the word up. (translator)

I've seen these a few times on the t.v. and am in complete awe. I think they're amazing and will probably plan a trip up to see them in the near future.
A lovley shot with the full shadow in frame.
Great work and nice hat ;-)
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Chris,
I like how you've dressed and capture this statue with the long shadow and the shore line in the background. The textures and colors are excellent. TFS

HAHA! Bet there were a lot more ideas as well! Nice one Chris. Bit of humour on a sculpture that I think is positioned well (is that British beach mud?)
