Thurne windmill at dawn
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The much photographed white windmill at Thurne on the Norfolk Broads.
Taken just after sunrise in September 2006.
I was hoping for a strong sunrise to colour the windmill, but it turned out to be far from spectacular, but I'm very happy with the composition nevertheless.
Cokin P121 ND grad filter used. |

Excellent compo, colours and framing.

Saw this in the "Featured Artist" section on the main page.
It's a really good shot, with lovely colour tones.
I am interested in photographing windmills myself, and know how hard it is to deal with the vertical builidng crossing the backlit skyline. I think you have just about got away with it here, without the top half appearing too dark.
Good work!
