[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I managed to get a few shot of the lunar eclipse tonight, however photographing a moon that is 250,000 miles away is not particularly easy when there is so much light pollution from the cities! The orange glow transmitted from a highly populated area really does get in the way when trying to photograph a pitch black sky at night with longer exposures.

Using a tripod and electronic remote release I took many shots with different exposure times ranging between 1/60 sec to 3 minutes.

These were my favourite four shots which were taken over a one and a half hour period during the eclipse.

No PP.

Great work nice captures. TFS Jaxx :)

Well, considering conditions you did a great job. Great zoom on the moon (I swear I did not intend for that to rhyme!) and beautiful the way the bright light hits the tops of the moons. I find the upper left moon is a little too close to the upper edge, making the photo slightly "heavy" or concentrated in that corner. But nice layout of the different shots of the moon and TFS!

THANK YOU
Janice

Hello John,
A well thought out presentation, good exposure for such a difficult subject. I like the frame you have chosen, it has enhanced the overall image.
Regards, Roger.
I saw this many moons, it was late one Saturday night......

Hi John,

Very nice combo, giving us various phases of the lunar eclipse. Despite the difficulties of such a task, you managed good shoots!
The combo's presentation is also well laid-out and nicely presented.
TFS,
Vassilis

Hi John,
Apparently half Europe was staring at the sky last evening and making pictures from the moon eclipse. (I didn't probably one of the les of the European TL-members when I look at the postings of yesterday evening and today ;) But you did a good job and makes it an interesting posting with all the different eclipse phases. Great job my friend!
Hans

Yasin.

These are awesome shots John. I like the way you placed them into a collage so we could see all your shots at one time. Considering the conditions, you have done extremely well.

Absolutely superb stuff John!
I can just imagine the difficulty - and, maybe, the uncertainty - you must have experienced. Well whatever, it was worth it my friend!
Spot-on exposure, very interesting presentation.
Congratulations!
Bill

Hi John,

I didn't get the chance to view the eclipse yesterday but at least I got to see it on TL! (^_^)

I was a bit too late and tried only a couple of shots, none of which was worth showing. Nice presentation here, John. Good idea to show a couple of shots. Next year, same players will shoot again ;o)).
