Mind the Gap, Piccadilly Circus
This was taken in between rain showers. It shows the eros statue in the world famous crossing and the "tube" underground. You can also see a normal london taxi and some bike riders. You will be familiar w/ the expression "Mind the Gap" when you ride the subway or what they call the tube. I excused the lady on the left :)
The thoroughfare called Picadilly links Hyde Park Corner with Picadilly Circus, but the name also refers to the surrounding area. Today Piccadilly has two contrasting faces: a bustling commercial district full of shopping arcades, eateries, and cinemas; and Saint James's, to the south, which still focuses on a wealthy, glamorous clientele.
Piccadilly Circus, with its dazzling neon lights, is a focal point of the West End. It began as an early 19th-century crossroads between Piccadilly and John Nash's Regent Street. Briefly an elegant space, edged by curving stucco facades, by 1910 the first electric advertisement had been installed.
Crowds congregate beneath the delicately poised figure of Eros, the Greek god of love. Erected in 1892 as a memorial to the Earl of Shaftesbury, a victorian Philanthropist, the statue was originally intended to represent an angel of mercy.
Among the many notable sights along Piccadilly, the Royal Academy, founded in 1768, houses a permanent art collection, including a Michelangelo relief of the Madonna and Child (1505).
The tranquil St. James's Church was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1684, and the recently restored 18th-century Spence House contains fine period furniture and paintings. This Palladian palace was built for an ancestor of Princess Diana.
Shopping in and around Piccadilly is very expensive, especially in Bond Street, where many famous designer labels have stores, and in Burlington Arcade, which is patrolled by beadles. On Piccadilly itself, Fortnum and Mason, founded in 1707, is one of London's most prestigious food stores, while the grand Ritz hotel is a popular afternoon tea venue for the suitably dressed.

Very nice photo. I like its sharpness and so smooth. Great lighting and compo. As Ed mentioned, you croped the lady. Over all, great job.

Wonderful composition. This is one of my favorites places in London. I have also one photo from Piccadilly Circus but your one is amazing. Great point of view.

Hi Fred, this is a different but very nice pov of Picadilly Circus.
It's a dynamic image with the scooter, the car. Very sharp image. It would be nice if the woman was not cropped.
