Snow Clouds

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This picture has been a few days in the making. I stopped at the Queen's View North of Glasgow on my way to work in Stirling, and walked up the hill until I had good, uninterrupted view of Loch Lomond and the surrounding hills. I watched as clouds of snow swept over the landscape, one moment sun shinning through, the next, everything enclosed by the clouds. It was cold!
I took ten shots. They were handheld (I was hiding behind a rock to shelter from the wind and a tripod wouldn't work) but the lens was long enough that there was no problems with parallax, and short enough to minimize shaking.
Batch processed in UFRaw, stitched using Hugin/Enblend, touched up the curves in Cinepaint, and toned, cropped and sharpened in the Gimp. |
