Here we see the most southerly point in the UK along with the last place you can buy a pasty or cream tea :) Unfortunately the cafe was shut as the season doesn't start properly untill April, however we could still buy a coffee at another cafe very near by. You wouldn't think it to look at but it was freezing cold here and we had our hats and gloves on too. We had sleet and snow for the first couple of days which was a big thing in Cornwall as that doesn't happen here very often.

PP = The sky has been completely changed here as the original was too blown out, so I used a sky from another shot in the other direction which seems to have worked well along with my favourite overlay gradient. Levels & curves and smart sharpen.

So thats the closest you get to New Zealand without actually leaving the country...lol..

AHHH what a shame you couldnt get a BIG CREAM bun from there Johnny.. I read your disappointment.:-)

Well done on importing your sky...one would never know.

And to the people that built that white little building..they put it in the wrong place.. would have looked better if they had placed it on the left.. spoils the look of the other building..dont you agree John ?

Thanks for sharing my friend.
Cheers
Dawn.

Hi John, you really do these sky changes well. Lovely POV, good colour and excellent foreground detail. YFS,
Dave

Many thanks for your comment on ‘If Only...’

Nice pp work John, can't even see the join, mind you a straight horizon helps. Its worked really well, the light is just perfect and the inclusion of the lone figure is a master stroke.

Peter

Hi John,

So this is the end of your world...? :))
Great photo!! Especially the sky look amazing! Pity you couldn't enjoy a creamy tea as a reward for your journey. :)

Well done
Constantinos

Hello John,
Indeed, this place looks like the end of not only England but about everything!
Very well composed image, where you let your audience enjoy the same view as you did...
The ocean looks like endless!
Greetings,

:-) OK-

Hello John,
I really like what you have done with this excellent image.
The direction of the light has created strong contrast and the exposure is very good.
You have made a good job of replacing the sky, I would never have guessed.
Regards, Roger.

Glad to see this one Johnny
I have been exactly on the other end in John O Groats
top right end of UK mainland, before called: Duncansbehead. John O Groats was a man from ??? YES!! Holland! Real name was Jan de Groot.
The town takes its name from Jan de Groot, a Dutchman who obtained a grant for the ferry from the Scottish mainland to Orkney, recently acquired from Norway, from King James IV in 1496.

As you see John.. we Dutch have been anywhere in the past and now..So keep your computer fast and sharp!
(big dirty smile here )

Great Eater my GOOD friend!@

Hello John UK, nice composition and colors. TFS

Hello my friend John

Beautiful observatory, that should be wonderful to sit down, to appreciate the view and to take that tea of cream that you describe, it should be an an extraordinary place to come always. and to have the beauty of this ocean his front is already enough.
Congratulations for the beautiful look. The sharpness is excellent.

Hi John,
such a lovely seascape. the clouds are verey puffy and dramatic. The light at the sea is well controlled and make the whole shot attractive, especially witrh the foreground well seen.

regards,
foozi
