[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Royal Oak public house and Langstone Mill, this area is a well trodden path for local photographers and artists.
In the past this area was renowned for smuggling activities, there were many meetings at the bar of the Royal Oak and it is believed that originally there was a tunnel linking the pub to the mill, possibly kept from flooding by the mills ability to pump it dry. The Mill was worked by the tide and wind so the sails could be positioned in such a way as to signal the all clear or otherwise, the mill was also used for storage.
Little remains now of the narrow sunken lanes that led North to the nearby village of Havant where the contraband started it's illegal distribution.
Behind the mill is the millpond where I took the previously posted image of the swan, 'Reflection'.

Roger, I love everything about this picture - the reflection of the Royal Oak in the deep blue water, the sky and very white clouds, the mill, people relaxing in the sun - it's great!

Outstanding saturation here, I love the colours, the reds of the roof vs the blue of the sky. Sharpness is great too, particularly those clouds.
Excellent work
