A door and archway at Cotehele House, east Cornwall.
Cotehele is a well preserved, and little altered, Tudor manor house on the banks of the River Tamar.
It is one of the least altered medieval houses in the country. It was owned by the Edgecumbe family for nearly six centuries.

It is now cared for by the National Trust.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean,
A simple but nice image, good colours and sharpness, and nicely lit. I will be down by the Tamar/Tavy tomorrow but will probably stay on the Devon side.
Tfs Andy

Hi Jean,
maybe yes... maybe not... I like the mystery in it. Great framing and use of light. I like very much old doors. Nicely seen and presented to us. Thanks!

Kindly regards,
Ioana

Hello Jean.
Thought I see a picture of Sicily, lol.
Very well captured, maybe not nessesary to make it that sharp?
Nice meeting you here.
Jan

Wow...beautiful entrance! Imagine the work that was involved in this piece...amazing! Lots of texture captured here Jean, maybe a bit too sharp but not too much. Wondering how it would have looked with a bit more room around it, showing more of the Lilac? bush. Just a different spin on it...nice shot Jean.

Lyndon

Hello Jean,
The shaped stone work around the door frames it nicely. Then the eye can move in and feast on the lovely detail and textures. Like Lyndon, I wonder how it would have lookeed with a step backwards.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jean,

Nice shot, excellent details.

Hello Jean,
This door seems to have a Moorish influence.
What a lot of work carving that one.
Great texture.
Well captured with a nice simple and effective compo.I like the hint of framing from the mauve lantanas. Nice contrast.
Have a nice Sunday evening.
