Trafalgar square with general Nelson's statue.
Trafalgar Square is London's main evnue for rallies and outdoor public meetings. It was conceived by John Nash, and mostly constructed in the 1830s. The 50-m / 165-ft column commemorates Admiral Lord Nelson, Britain's most famous sea lord, who dies at the Battle of Trafalgar against Napoleon in 1805. The column dates back to 1842. It is guarded by four lions designed by Edwin Landseer in 1867. |

Hi Barb: another excellent view of Trafalgar square. I like how my eye is drawn to the fountain around the buildings and up the column and finally to the wisp of a cloud above Nelson... ;0) ...Thanks ...Roman
