[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Made at the Sanctuary event in Cardiff. This week in the UK is Refugee week.
In 2005 asylum applications were made from more than 45 countries. 2965 unaccompanied children 17 or under applied for asylum in the UK.Their main countries of origin were Afghanistan,Iran,Somalia,Eritrea,Iraq and China. According to the UNHCR the vast majority of refugees are sheltering in he developing world.
In the UK,asylum seekers, including children, can be detained at any stage of the asylum process, the UK detains more people for longer periods and with less judicial supervision than any comparable country in Europe. Remember that everyone has a story.

Hi Chris,
Can you let go of those stories, when they are able to tell them in english - or are most of them unable to communicate in english at all?
You are right in saying that a bold colour catches the eye - good illustration for the note.

A favorite for me, Chris! WOnderful photograph, great t-shirt and I like how the person remains 'faceless' in your shot like many refugees do in the real world, sadly enough.

Very very good

hello Chris,
bold, simple and straight forward. I will try to remeber this date for next year. I work has a school librarian and will plan a display of books around this to raise awareness amongst our pupils.
Good note.

Hi Chris,
this to me is where photography can illustrate something and teach people who may be ignorant toward such major issues as this, myself included. I did not realise or consider the concept your note has portrayed.
The photo itself is bold, and acheives something positive, enabling awareness!
thankyou for sharing this

Hello Chris,
Good Photo and even better notes, we have refugees in Denmark, who are still going through "The Paper Work" six years after arrival, they are not allowed to work, and there children are not allowed to attend school.
This is the country that invented welfare?
Regards.
Mike
