Ullswater, taken from the west looking east across the lake, taken at around 6.30am.
I dont usually crop my images, but because the original of this had a lot of water and nothing else for foreground attention I thought it best to make this into a panoramic style shot.
I did'nt notice on the cameras LCD the reflections of the blue sky comming down on the water, so this for me was an added bonus to se this on my monitor.

Hope you like!

PP cropped, resized, saturation boost on the yellow channel, neat image and "small" border added.

EDIT: Please see large version. Slightly different to small one as far as colours and tones go etc, edited the large from scratch again, thanks to Dpbours for the info on posting large.

Hello Dean
A very beautiful composition with a very good management of all the parameters.
Cheer and good day.
Gildas

Hi Dean,
What no large black frame? :-) Again a stunning panorama, nice distributin of sky and water. The rock on the FG right side is a perfect ellenment in this wonderful picture.

beautiful picture, beautiful reflections on the water but also on the grass. I don't know how the original sized picture looked, but you did good cropping it. The stone in the front accentuates the whole composition.

Hi Dean,
A wonderful photo with such an excellent mood created by the soft sunlight. Especially the sunlight that hit the mountains is stunning. It illuminated the yellows and green in the grass perfectly. It looks like you used a slow shutter speed, because the reflection on the water is become a wonderful silky quality. I like the idea of the panorama crop. It also made the single a good FG element.
Did you use a grad ND filter for exposure balance? I do find the sky to have a little too much cyan. A pitty about the hot zone in the top part of the cloud.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Dean,

I love Wide angle pictures. Your picture of the landscape is beautiful and these days i am seeing that sun is really helpful in these sort of pictures. Also the Rock in the water and nothing else gives it an interesting look.

Well done and TFS.

With best regards,
Muahammad Usman Ali

Glad you have joined the croppers! :-)

This really is a wonderful shot and I can easily see this framed and in a Lake District art gallery...it almost reminds me of some of the shots Colin Baxter does in Scotland. There's a lovely feel with realistic colours and a great composition. The rock in the foreground adds interest, depth and perspective. Lovely shot, really a pleasure to see.

Hi Dean,
An excellent shot and I like the crop. The colors and tones are amazing. I really like the sunlight shown through to the mountains. you've composed and exposed this perfectly. Congrats!

Hi Dean,
I like the panoramic crop on this one, the colours are great and the lighting is excellent, the eye is led from the rock in the forground to the hills by the reflected light of the clouds.
Well done
Tfs Andy

great colours nice crop

Hi Dean,

Very nice light in the distance. But this is a shot you have to see BIG! What didn't you upload the bigger panorama version?? You can upload panoramas in bigger sizes!!

"To upload a panorama first you need to post an image with a ratio of 2.5 between the length and the height. For example a picture with a maximum 800 pixels length and 320 pixels height.

After you post it, in the manage section near the Edit, Delete, etc options will also be available the Large Panorama option. You click in it and an upload screen for the panorama will appear. The panorama must have a maximum of 4000 pixels width and I think 800 pixels height. The size must be of 400kb."

Hope it helps! ;-)

Dennis

No two ways about it, this is a professional quality image of the kind that sells wall posters. Superb depth of colours and you're right: the reflections add a lot

Dean,
I was looking for the order form and the price for this image.....
WOW.
Nearly perfect. I LOVE the sunlit mountains and how real this looks. The water is superb and the clouds are wonderful. The lone crag of rock is outstanding. GREAT WORK....keep 'em coming.
Other than to improve my photography THIS is why I come to Trek Lens, to see eye candy like this. This may have renewed my landscape photography interests!
