Finally, the end of the Blea Tarn series, for now at least.

I thought i'd save this one for last to give everyone the overall view of the Tarn, for those that have viewed the last few images can now get a sense of the scale of the area, and can probably pick out a couple of the spots were I took the images from, hope you enjoyed viewing them as much as i've enjoyed taking them and working on them, this has now become my favourite place, which i'm sure i'll visit time and time again.

Thankyou so much for all the positive comments this series has recieved, it's been an absolute pleasure to read them all.

PP Resized, levels and saturation tweaked, resharpened and border/title added.

Thankyou!

Dean.

Good morning Dean

What a lovely way to end the series, with an overall view. Now I am struggling with this one. I really love it but... I feel its the sort of image that should be viewed in a really large format rather than a photograph of this size. Bear with me here its probably blonde bimbo talk but I will try to explain my thoughts. There are so many eye catching sections.

1, The sunlit areas on the left. My eye is drawn naturally to the top left of an image first
2, The moutainy area in the distance.. natural progression from the first note
3, The fantastic reflections in the water... now i keep wanting to look back at the sunlit areas on the top left
4, The foreground rocky area... i look here but by eyes are pulled back to the water and the sunlight
5, everything else

hmm What i am trying to say is the image is fantastic but that i struggle to view all that is there in the size of view available.

Oh lord I hope you get to grips with all that and can make some sense of it.

TFS my friend and I cant wait for the next series

Hello Dean,

I know exactly what Helen is saying; the sunlight on the hill is so attractive that the eye is drawn there, but the same hill has been reflected in the water so the eye is drawn there too! If you look at it sideways, there is no conflict!

I still think it is a powerful shot!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Dean,

You have an amazing set of landscape photos. This one is just as good as the others. Very good DOF and details. Such a nice place to be... TFS

Another cracker Dean,

I can almost smell the atmosphere, the grass the water, lovely.
I hope you managed to get up some of the hills, they look magic in the background.
It's a few years since i have been down to the lakes, I really must try this year.

Beautiful. The best - there's a bit of everything in this one. Another one for you to be thrilled with Dean.
So crisp and clear. Superb colours and sharp details. 110/100

Hi Dean,

Ah, fortunately. You're also human! I thought, if there is no end to those perfect postings of Dean, I'm not sure anymore if he's human. But you show you're human here and I have to agree with Helen - though some different comments, since I'm a brown haired dude and not a blonde bimbo like she says she is hahaha.

There is basically a bit too much foreground, making that the eye keeps on wandering around there. It's also an incredibly sharp foreground, which captures the eye as well. Well, with such a sharp foreground, the reflection is just a bit off in sharpness. And there is just too little sun in the left top to really captivate, taking the attention away from the foreground.

I'd either have taken the shot with less foreground. Or I'd have taken it this way, but with the focal point at the take or the trees to the left, with the foreground blurred.
The light, the sky, the horizon - perfect. Just a bit too much foreground to have the eye wandering off to the really interesting parts of the shots.

You're human!! Yeah!!! :-D

Greetings, Dennis

PS: So the first thing I hear when I turn on the radio in the morning is 'Dean hits Mexico today!'. You should stop doing that, Dean ;-).

Hello Dean very well composed and technically spot on nice light and sharpness quality work tfs rgds Necip.

Hi Dean,
Another excellent post, I can see where Helen is coming from, the eye does go to the sunlight on the hills first, for me it then follows along to the background around and down to the water and the wonderful reflection that you seem to capture so well, you can certainly see where you took the pictures, it's a shame that it's the last of the series but you can have too much of a good thing LOL, maybe I will have to try harder and make my birthday trip to the lakes, it's something I've always wanted to do but a bit chilly in January.
Thanks again for sharing the great series.
Andy

Hello Dean,

Nice wide angle photo.
Beautiful colors and light on top of the mountain. TFS

Hi Dean,
This surely is a magical place and I can understand that we will see many more of it during the different seasons. I am sure winter would be cool. The late evening light in this photo is marvelous. It covered the tarn in soft shade and saturated the top if the hills perfectly. The reflection and depth of this photo are wonderful. I've been really loving your series of this tarn.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. Snowdonia will be on BBC 1 in a few hours.
