Hi Guy's

Not much today i'm afraid.
This was one of those images that looked so good in real life but transferred to screen or print just lacks the impact it did when looking over the valley. The sky was'nt quite that dark but I liked the effect from the 0.6 ND grad.
According to one of the locals that was out walking that day, these stones were left in a heap (theirs much more behind where this shot was taken) after the ice-age. I've titled this Hadrians Country because this is just yards from hadrians wall, it's a fantastic area but unfortunately the sun went behind the clouds shortly after this shot, so I am sure i'll be going their again shortly for some more shots, luckily it's only a 40 minute drive away.

PP Converted from RAW, resized, saturation and levels boost, resharpened and border/title added. (In that order)

Thanks for looking!

Hi Dean ,
What too uncanny mood!
The wonderful composition, beautiful colours. Uncanny these clouds above the horizon....
Very much he appeals to me.
Well done .
regards
Zosia

Hi Dean,
You are unbeatable in your landscape postings Dean! Excellent bright and vivid colours. The clouded sky; striking! A image wich would show great at my wall in my livingroom :-)

Hi Dean! Great POV and perspective. It's like a setting in the Highlander series. Lovely colors and details that are not degraded by resizing the photo which I'm having a problem doing. The very thick black border distracts me.
TFS,
Freddie :)

A nice and moody image with forboding grey skies. Technically, its very well done.

Cheers,

Dave

Hello Dean,
Nevertheless a impressive landscape with great skies.
Don't worrie about the tricky sun and clouds.
It happens to mee too - every time I found the very right POV a fat cloud is slowly moving between the object and the sun and it sometime even seems to be mooving two ways in order to keep me entertained.

Hello Dean,
A beautiful landscape taken under a challenging exposure system. I like the sharp focus of rocks/boulders and grasses on the foreground and the foreboding clouds on the b/g. Great photo. Regrads, Danilo

Hi Dean.
I like the capture. Simple and real.
One reason that I keep coming to your photos is that next year we will be doing Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk and I'm curious about what I will see. One of the things you have taught me is that I will need a fast wide angle lens for the hike. TFS. Karin

I LOVE this scene, such moody clouds with the sun touching just the foreground rocks. It is exactly how I imagine that area of the country to look when I read about it. I so wish I could visit someday and see it for myself. I think your "not much today" is an underestimation of your talents. Beautiful landscape!

Hi Dean,

You managed to capture the tones quite well and the ND Grad takes care of the light balance. Heavy clouds, but you're right. Not very eventful, but just a nice shot. That's worth something as well! ;-)
