Hi Guys, another from yesterdays shoot at Sycamore Gap, on Hadrians wall in the Northumberland national park. this time I thought I would give it the B&W treatment to show more the ruggedness of this landscape, also this image today is from the opposite side of the tree to yesterdays image, and in case you missed yesterdays, this is the tree used for the opening scenes of the movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Hope you like.

Hello Dean.
Very beautiful. I've been in a B&W mood myself lately and this is very special. Great light. Great tones. I like the crop and composition. Very well done.
Regards, Steve.

Yesterday's shot was great and this too is very effective. The different perspective here works and the B/W helps to show the texture of the lanscape a bit more starkly.
Great composition and the sweeping wide angle draws you naturally to the sycamore. Well seen, well shot and TFS.

Hi Dean,
Great shot, this works well in B&W and I like the panoramic view, I like the diagonal lead up to the tree.

What no frame? In comparission with the posting from yesterday, this B&W picture is more appealing to me. The compostion with the lonely tree, the V-shape were it is "trapped" gives it a well balanced. The contrast is perfect in this image. A nice white frame might improve it though :-)Hence still a joy for the eye this fine photo!

Hi Dean,

Are that people half-way the right hill?? That would be an enormous tree if it are two persons standing there. I can't really see it in the bigger version. But a wonderful black and white it is!

Greetings,
Dennis

Great pano. Really nice comp & tones.

Hi Dean,
I like the details in the larger version a lot. I think I can even see two people standing on top of the hill just right of the tree. That single tree is surely a wonderful and very strong subject.
Good work on getting such a great tonal range on the B&W conversion, especially since you only used the red channel.
TFS,
Niek
