Beautifully sunny day yesterday, so had a walk by the riverside. Saw this shot and grabbed it. It is a view of Selkirk that hasn't changed in a long time. Unfortunately a lot of the old mill buildings are no longer in use.

Still a beautiful spot.

Well spotted Peter, it is rare to get a shot like this nowadays with no street lights, TV ariels or other signs of modern life. It's also a nicely balanced picture.
Thanks,
Les

Hi Peter,

Nice framing, this brings back memories, I had my honeymoon in Selkirk, I must visit again soon.

Hello, Peter.

This is a great shot. I'm not that keen on the row of roofs in the foreground but what I really like is the subtle use of fill-in flash to lighten those overhanging leaves in the top of the picture. Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

Hi Peter

Nice use of the overlapping fg branches of the vines, to frame the distant scene. Well done!

A beautiful view, Peter. I love the large DoF you used, the pattern created by the rooftops in the bottom and the foliage that borders the shot on top.
Well done, TFS!

good shot nice to see the Royal Burgh in its true light
