Hello Camera Budskis.

Continuing my local churches theme, this one is Stainburn church in Wharfedale. I am lucky enough to live somewhere where you can just drive ten minuetes away from my home and you are likley to come across a really nice old church in the middle of nowhere.

I am not a religous person at all but I do love the feel of churches, they are nearly always beautiful and have a great sense of history.

Very little PP just a resize and some fiddleing with levels.

Cheers
Tom

Great photo of the church. Is it still in use?
It seems very abandoned.

The light hitting the church and the shadows caused by the tombstones showing the dissaray of the cemetaryis is a fabulous shot.
This photo done in B&W with a darkened sky would make a great photo for halloween.

Great ominous mood for a sunny colorful shot Tom,
You have selected the perfect POV here.

Beautiful old church - this looks very peaceful, and you've captured it from a good POV with the tilting gravestones in the foreground. This might work well in b&w I think, to create an entirely different mood. Or what about coming down here early on a foggy morning?
In that instance I'd love to see the same kind of shot with a wide aperture, so that the foreground was sharp and the background was blurred to create more mystery ...

Hi Tom,your image certainly gives off a feeling of age.I like the warm rays of the sun on the church, while the headstones are in shadow, your choice of POV is perfect.

A terrific POV used her Tom. I am with you on the beauty of old building, including churches. The detail and the light to contrast are perfect to give the feel of this one. I like the tomb stones that lean. Very artistic and lovely. Well done.

Hi Tom,
Great POV, a still from some classic English thriller. I do like the soft warm morning light, it looks great on the church walls.
Well seen,
Pete.

Definitely captures the best of the winter light, a lovely church and very atmospheric with the gravestones and winter vegetation colours. Cheers, Dad

Hi Tom,

Beautiful shot... like you, I am not a religous person, but I just go pass churches without admiring them and taking some photos of them, they are full of history and great architecture.

Like this one, it look wonderful with the soft sunlight shine on it, the texture and details is great, very nice composition and pov.

Cheers,
Sweety

Hi Tom
Beautiful photograph. I noticed that the sky is dividing the picture on a diagonal from middle left to the top right. It draws my eye to the top of the tree and then down the tree, so you feel like you are looking through the head stones and up at the church. It gives me an eerie sensation to be so low in the cemetery.

Hi Tom
