Look deeply into your heart, well actually the heart of a magnolia flower, and you never know what you'll find ;)

This shot is a magnolia cultivar, growing at the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Wisley.

Magnolias can be found in the wild across the US, southern Canada, Japan and China.

Tech: ISO100 RAW, converted using Adobe CRAW. USM and HighPass sharpening. Radial graduated fill to white at the edges. MT-24EX twin macro flash, 4:1 bias - 4x power on the top to prevent shadows.

Hi Adrian, what an amazing picture of an amazing flower. I am not very good with the technical critiques, all I can say is that I find it Perfect.

As beautifull as one could ever expect from you Adrian. This is what facinates me with macro photography. It opens up new doors and show us things we would never have studied as carefully withou it. Central composiiton works really well here, as does the high exposure of the petals. Magnolias are one of my favorite flowers. So beautifull.

Natural art this is, a fine light, Adrian, beautiful picture !

Beautiful capture. I'm impressed by the light and the sharpness. Goes well with the rest of your gallery. Great work!

Wow Adrian, what a beautifull presentation of the wonders of nature. I love the symmetry, light, sharpness, and almost fragile tones of color. The "hart" of the flower realy comes out of the composition, very good work!

Btw: I also like your sign, it is not disturbing the overall presentation.

Beautiful, so exquisite a flower. I love this one. The colours and details are so well done Adrian. And the frame suits it perfectly. Good PP work. TFS.

fenomenally beautiful Adrian! wow.. this is such a wonderful macro that really compliments the sensitivity of your lovely note.. i adore magnolias and in England we had a stunning one in our garden and many others throughout Oxford that used to bring me such joy.. that gentle white beautiful bloom blushed with pink was such a delight and these wonderful trees seemed to bloom for most of march.. wheras here i spotted my first magnolia a little over 2 weeks ago and last weekend they had already lost their flowers.. :-( i miss spring in oxford so much... especially now i've become so enthused with photography and i realize how much of the place i never shot! damn.. you don't realize what you've got till it's gone that's for sure...

well enough homesick rambling! thanks for posting the photographic masterpiece Adrian! i trule adore it.. ^_^ and.. keep posting with us here on TL! TE shouldn't get you all to themselves.. ihih :-)

Beautifully simple and simply beautiful!
An amazing macro shot Adrian, the delicate colour of the petals and the sharpness of the 'heart' of the flower is outstanding. Another of your great nature shots.

Hello Adrian...Excellent macro work...I do like the details...Soft pastel tones are great in the composition...

Your floral shots are always so good. I check here once in a while to see if I can learn some tips. This one is so sharp, and I like the way you used the radial gradiant. I haven't tried that yet on a flower. Magnolias are such a regal flower. Nice work as always.

What a beautiful presentation. So much detail. And the color and lighting is just great. Well done.

Nice image, the colours and focussing work well!

Hello Arian,
Nice to find you on TL.
Good crop and details of a very fragile object.
Well done. TFS Thomas
