[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my second attempt at a water drop shot. Again the colours are caused by coloured printed papers placed under and behind the glass water bowl. I wanted this to almost look like molten metal. Captured using a Canon 100mm macro lens. This time I used my camera pop up flash.

Hello, Karan.

Wow! This is wonderful! I've just looked at your "First Attempt" which is good, but this one is fabulous! Fantastic sharpness and wonderful colours - very good indeed considering you used the in-camera flash and not a separate flashgun.

I must have a go at this sort of thing. Tell me, Karan, how did you manage to synchronise the dropping of the water and the shot? Was it just good timing and a lot of luck or did you use some cleverer method? How many shots did you take before achieving this??

Best Wishes,

John.

Hi Karan,
I have to agree WOW fantastic shot, I love the colours you have created, and the drop itself is just so sharp. I would love to know how you creatd this as well, fancy spilling the beans to us all!!

Amazing good results, Karan !
Indeed it has a molten metal look, but it also has something of glass.
Very good experiment.

Hello Karan,
This is a creative technique to obtain colouring, and can be applied to different see-through subjects!
Good details in the macro work, and the timing seems perfect...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Karan,
Being a macro lover of water drop, experimented lots of shots, this result of yours is really envious and inspiring. Really. Perfect form, sharpness and very nice color. f/22 and 1/250... I should try this (in my case I could only reach 1/180 when using pop up). Thank you very much for sharing this result and have a nice weekend.
Regards,
Ramdan.

Hola Karan.
Fabuloso momento.
Una captura genial.
Buenos detalles en esta espectacular macro.
Saludos, JL.

Hi Karan,
The second attempt worked really well!
The choise of yellow paper under your waterbowl gives the picture more peace. The flash highlighted the drop and gived it a metal look.
Very well done, again :-).
TFS,
Steven.

A stunning picture, Karan. Keep it up, if you progress like this, wow!
Regards,
Tibi

Stunning colours - the gold colour under the water really does give a moulten metal feel. With the progression first attempt to second you'll soon be an old hand at this technique and be regularly turning out masterpieces. Great stuff!
Thanks for sharing
Mark
