Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

At the end of last month, I walked round the lanes near my house. Of course, because it is now spring, it is the time for rebirth. The sheep had been brought down into the home fields, next to the farms, and lots of lambs had been born.

I did get some lovely shots of the lambs but I found this shot most interesting. When I got out my camera, the ewes, with their lambs, came running up to the wall. (Believe me, they were running! The brown sheep, on the left, was still moving at speed!) This is just the opposite to normal pracice! Ewes with lambs are very protective and usually move away from strangers.

They may have thought that I was going to feed them, but it just felt like an invitation to photograph them with their new babies.

Many thanks for your visit.
I hope you enjoy the photograph and please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of it. :-)

Well composed and funny portrait. The landscape in the background is beautiful too. The sky is a bit burnt out but not completely, it might have happened during PP.
Regards, and have a nice weekend too,
Tibi

Hi Bev - A pretty cool shot of these curious sheep behind a wall of old rocks. Having included the stones in the image adds to the sense of the beautiful landscape that they are living in (and you, too, it seems). Thank you, also for the note, and have a good Sunday! - Cordelia :))

Hello Beverley,
A fine multiple portrait of this furry bunch!
Curiosity is very evident, I wonder what they are expecting; I know horses love to get apples, but sheep?
A fine composition, as they pop up behind the stone wall!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Good morning to you, too Bev. I do like your animals as well. I almost posted one of these, but the sheep in Scotland were different in that they were quite skittish. I very much like this view. The wonderful stone fences and the fields rolling away in the background make a terrific back drop. I can see the curiosity in the closest sheep’s eyes, talk about sharp focus. Really very cute and wonderfully done.
Warm Regards
Wanda

hello bev,
a comical encounter.I like the textures of stone and wool and the rolling hills beyond. What poppy-out eyes the foremost sheep has!
I walkd with the dog yesterdday and a ewe with lambs took except to our presence by stamping her feet.
regards
Bev

Hi Bev,

Oh, what a delightful shot! I headed to your gallery to comment on today's repetition image, but got sidetracked when I saw this one:) Actually, this one would work for the theme also. The several faces here are peering at you so intently and searchingly...a curiosity that works both ways. Great catch, full of connection!

Wonderful composition and also funny one :) great detail and sharpness. greetings,

figen

Hi Beverley

Great shot! really funny how all of them are looking at the camera, v nice composition and placement of the closest lamb, and having the stone wall in the fg as well as in the bg.

So typically nosy, those sheep...
Love this POV here Bev... Real nice image...

Hi, Bev,
I can't help it. I LOVE sheep photos. :)) I love their expectant expressions and the way SO many of them are looking right at you. Nice soft spring colors and good sharp detail and that lovely countryside in the BG. I think I'm a sucker for sheep because of the movie "Babe". I loved that movie. Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly
