Hi folks,

Today I am sharing this photo with you as it is one of my favorite shot of the cottages, it is situated at Shearsby,
Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

We have been invited to a BBQ dinner at my husband's friend house. Before the dinner begin, David (my husbsand's friend) told me I should wonder around their tiny village before the sun go down, so I na take some photos..they have some nice and pretty houses around, they are not only old, but full of characters, so there I went on my own with my camera. This is the first beautiful cottage which just across their house around the coner not far away. I was trying hard to take photos of it, after trying out a few different angles, I just can't squeeze anymore of the house into my lens, as you know I only have a standard lens... I was pretty frustrated, but that's the best I can do as my back is against the wall... and silly me forget that I can "stich" the photos... so here is the result.

Anyway, the shot was taken against the sun... not my choice, I would love to have it the other way. I still like it, :D

By the way... I notice a lot of the real old houses are not build on the flat ground, but man.. they still standing today.. just like this one..

Hello Puffy,

This is a lovely pastoral scene!
The cottage, as you say, just oozes character from years of experience.
I love the details of the roofed windows, the leaded glass and the rose covered walls.
The tree in the b/g helps to balance the whole.

It is no good talking about space as you have explained the difficulties. I still like it very much!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Well this is really nice and creative! The ones are lovely. Again, a nice picture.
Best wishes,
Achim

Hi Sweety

Nice graphism & symmetry of the 2 houses which resemble how I imagine the gingerbread house in Hansel & Gretel might look. Tfs!

beautiful cottage, i like the pattern of the window and flowers around the house. ooya, the shape of the cottage look like in fairy tale story. great shot, sweety

The image is very beautiful, even if it has a little too much brightness due to your position when taking it!
The rural architecture is very simple but charming, with the clean line of the white walls, the rich texture of the thached roof and the geometric lines of the windows.
TFS!

An excellent job of capturing the charm of this lovely little cottage, Sweety. I love the fine details shown and the colours are wonderful. What are the valances over the windows made of? Very interesting textures and contrasts. Well done.

Hi Sweety,

I would love to live in a cottage like this(..or a high rise, can't decide :D) It's just charming with the lead glass windows, the climbing flowers, etc... Very welcoming. With your back against the wall, I'm not going to say it would be nice to see the pitch of the roof! LOL. Still a wonderful shot. I wonder if the roof is slate?

thanks for sharing this delightful cottage, Lisa

Sure was a difficult shot to take, Puffy. Funny you had forgotten about the stitch, since it's so easy with the Canon software. So next time you go back, try it again at a different time of day and do stitch! This is a really lovely cottage!
Cheers
Otto

Hello Puffy,

it is a very beautiful house. I have made a WS, you can make such a shot "horizontal" even with a standard lens, I did it with Photofiltre (perspective). I also find the sky to much over-exposed. I think the WS another one did, shows us a nicer sky...

regards,

Luc.
ps :doing the perspective in the WS, I lost part of the left and the right...
