Good Morning folks. The other day I mentioned the roads , that at times were pretty scary for us Canadians. Here is the road into Dun Ringle castle, which we had to traverse coming and going. This area was the original seat of the MacKinnon clan, until the late 15th century, when they moved to Caisteal Maol (previous posting).
Ringill descends from the Gaelic meaning "point of the ravine." Look at a map of the area and you will see why that name was applied there. Hence, with Dunringill, we have the fort at the point of the ravine. In the ninth century, the MacKinnons refortified this iron-age fortress and it remained the clan seat for at least three centuries.
The image is taken with my back to the footpath leading into the castle.
Converted, +3 contrast, noise reduction, frame, resized, USM and signed.
Thanks for helping me learn and grow.

Hey!! I'm sitting on top of you! HAHA! A marvelous shot here Wanda! The horizon line is off, but still a pleasing shot to the eyes! Beautiful!
B-)
Linda

Wow!

The sky and the ground colors and textures combined are very beautiful and eyecatching. Great sharpness and I like how your tight crop and POV leads us straight into the rest of the picture, by means of the road. The horizon looks level to me. I wouldn't change a thing.
Nice shot Wanda!

The depth of colour here is truly superb!
I love the textures too, and the way the road seems to mirror the clouds
Fabulous!

Looks like some of OUR roads in Québec. And I'm not joking.
Excellent capture. beautiful sharp colors.
I would have leveled the water horizon a bit but still an excellent image.

Hi Wanda,
What a splendid landscape! Tourist information will require your photo to make their next guide:))) Beautiful composition and perspective. The colors are superb. The final result... a postcard:) Cheer for your excellent work. Sincere friendships
Diane

Hi Wanda - why noise reduction when ISO was only 100...?

That aside, great composition and you were lucky to have the blue skies :-) Some telltale signs of chilliness, though - the dusting of snow in the distance and the white horses on the water. I think it might need a slight rotation anti-clockwise, I'm going by the left edge of the house rather than the horizon.

But minor points aside this is another lovely shot from your trip.

Hello Wanda,
Beautiful POV and lovely colors.
Like this extended DOF. TFS

Hello Wanda,

Impressive POV and beautiful vivid colors. Very well composed photo with the road leading the eyes to the house and the mountins in the BG. TFS

Best regards,
Sorina

Being in your own clan area must feel special.
Indeed the road can be scary, but are the views not worth a bit of a scare?

Lovely picture of Scotland again Wanda.

Hi Wanda
Definitely not a boulevard but one of those roads that you really have to pay attention to your driving, as the beautiful scenery can be distracting.
Very good shot with wonderful colors
Dot

Wonderful contrasts in this Wanda. Nicely composed with good detail. The view to the snow capped peaks is lovely. The road resembles some I have seen down here. TFS,
David

A great composition with the narrow road leading the eye to the mountainous BG. The waves are a nice capture. Is the wind the reason you had to smooth so much -- just wondering. TFS. K2

Hi Wanda, looks like you had a very windy day by the looks of the whitecaps on the Loch, the good thing about the narrow
roads in the Scottish countryside is that there is not a lot of traffic to worry about:)The scenery in the Highlands is just so beautiful, dull or sunny days as you are showing so well with your images.

Hi Wanda,
The road to Dun Ringill composes a wonderful landscape looking a little like the ones we can see at National Park of Forillon in my area!
Excellent composition enhanced by the saturated colors. Alive and very pleasant view! Bravo! Annie

Hi Wanda !
lovely saturation here. Exposure looks very well manged and the road is a great lead-in feature.

Best regards, Daniel
