Loch Ness (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Nis)

There are not many images of Loch Ness we haven’t seen, I wanted to have one just a bit different. Light was always a factor in Scotland so any hint of sunshine I tried to use to the fullest.
Maybe I caught a glimpse of Nessie? You be the judge.

*”Over 200 million years ago, a great movement of the earths crust created Glen Mor, “ the Great Glen”.
Thousands of years ago, glaciers scoured and smoothed the glen, creating four great lochs along its length- Linnhe, Lochy, Oich, and Ness. Loch Ness is by far the largest, and its peat-blackened waters are believed to be more than 125 fathoms (240m) deep.”

This is taken facing south east towards Urquhart Castle.

Composed in camera, converted, +2 saturation, framed, USM, signed.

This is one of the ones I've been waiting for :-)

Firstly, I'm not a fan of the frame, I think it results in too small an image and I'd prefer to see more of the lovely detail in the shot itself.

But, that aside, I do love these Loch Views. The waves on the water (wake of Nessie, perhaps...) give an impression of cold wind, especially when we also see the snow-dusted peaks in the distance. Good combination of scenery - the Loch, the rocks, the bare trees and the distant mountains. Nice shot :-)

Hi Wanda,
What a superb landscape.Great point of view.Colours, light and atmosphere are excellent.TFS.
Cheers,

hAyAti

Where's Nessie? Did you see her?
Excellent capture. Good POV, sharpness and details.
Looks cold though :-).

I SEE IT!! Just skimming the water on the left side! Very nice shot Wanda! Nice tones and it looks like a very cold dark lake! I would be afraid to fall overboard!
B-)

hello Wanda

Frame is a personal taste, so I wont comment on it. The photo shot is nicely captured, sharp and good exposure settings to give this pov. Thanks for sharing this.

Well presented shot of the famous lake. It is much more beautiful then the blurred images that I've seen claiming to be of Nessie.

Hi Wanda
To go to Scotland would be a dream come true, but I now have to settle for other people's photos to visit.
Your photo gives us a bit of a chill with its dark colours and the snow capped mountains in the background.
Let's prentend that that dark strip which is probably a wave is Nessie poking its head to pose for you.
Very nice shot

Hallo Wanda
Great point of view, gives us a good feeling about this great lake, good light and atmosphere, good details.
If I should critise something it would be the size of the frame, but thats only my opinion, it have nothing to do whit your great shot, that is super.

Bonjour Wanda
Nessie was not on duty that day but your photo is very nice. I like the low point of view you chose and the sky is splendid. Good composition with the twigs to the right.
Bien réussi.
Bravo
Serge

FRames are frames Wanda, you either love them or hate them. Excellent colours not only in the foreground but in the far distance and good detail on the water. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Autumn at Punchbowl’. Gentle slopes in this area but a couple of decent switchbacks on the roads in and out.
