[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Probably the first day I've been up to Talla and had reasonable light. So grabbed a couple of shots. It was still bitterley cold though with snow on the tops of the hills.

Took on shot over exposed and one shot under exposed and combined them in an HDR image in Photomatix.

Hope you like the result.

Peter

Hi Peter,
Great shot, good use of the rocks as a lead in, a great POV looking down the valley with the hills in the distance, I have not tried HDR yet but think it might happen soon.
Well done

Hi peter,

Cracking shot, lovely colours and details, you are really getting the hang of HDR, very realistic results. Do you know they have now released the new version V3 If you have the current version you can uprate It free.

Douglas

Hello, Peter.

Wow!

This is superb. The lighting is wonderful and the HDR work has brought the lighting out a treat.

Just as you told me you had taken a picture similar to my one of the big house at the far end of the reservoir, I've posted a picture I took from what must have been pretty much the exact same spot as a workshop for you. (Actually, I posted it on TE just last month.) I guess that sooner or later we'll find ourselves squinting at each other through our viewfinders!

Anyway, a very fine picture indeed, well composed and superbly exposed and processed. I would love to see just what the original normally-exposed shot was like - could you possibly post that as a workshop too?

Best Wishes,

John.

Very well handled HDR, you must have marked the spot for the tripod?
No upgrades to the D300 yet??

hello Peter,
I've not visited your gallerty for a while and so saw this for the first time. You have used HDR to good effect and produced a quality shot with good light and colour. I like the texture of the foreground rocks and your POV looking down to the reservoir.

Bev

Hi Peter, just catching up with some long overdue comments on my TL favourites, this one really caught my eye. Superb DOF, POV colours and the sky really makes it. No critique, just congratulations for a great shot!

Hi Peter

Nice central placement of the lake, with good blue skylight reflections. The sloping hills either side add dynamism & perspective. Good sharpness, & have a great weekend!

Hi Peter,
What a beautifull and well composed landscape . The result of your HDR experience is great and I like it very much . Very good result with the colors . I am impress here .
Daniel

Peter,

One of the greatest compliments I can pay to this shot is that its looks absolutely nothing like the usual HDR fair that we are subjected too! And, you might have guessed, I'm not a fan of these mad cartoons!

Nevertheless, I'm sure that HDR has its uses, in the right hands, and that it is practically impossible to say what effect the process has had on this shot is, again, a great compliment to the way you have used it. The result looks 100% natural.

Regards
colin
