[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A close up view of a bowl of tomatoes. Light source was a desk top lamp positioned to the right of the image.

This image was taken using my D80, but with the 18-55mm kit lens off of my old D50. Whilst not technically a macro (or more correctly a micro) lens, it does a fairly good job of getting close to a subject considering its focal length.

A small aperture was used for maximum field depth, and spot metering mode was used for the exposure - the reading taken off a stalk.

Very fresh produce. So plump and must be so juicy. I like it, Robert. The tight framing and the very well managed exposure are commendable. Good macro shot.
Cheers!
Freddie :)

Nice play!

Regards,
Carla

Great macro shot, Robert. Wonderful light reflecting from the skins of the fruit. Vibrant colors. Just wondering why you chose the "people" genre for this one? Regardless, great image.

Great effective work!
I actually like everything, in this shot: lightening, POV, DOF, colors and contrast.
VEry well done!

Hi Robert,

These look delicious! Makes me want a nice loaf of French bread, olives, and cheese!

I like the crop you have done...just the tomatoes. The details of the stems are terrific too. Great close up! I also like your simple border.

Now off for some lunch! :D Lisa

Hi Robert
Good stuff here - good depth of color for you light source. Mixing and matching lens worked for you. The small aperture tend to soften the focus a bit, still work just fine.

Dan

Hi Robert,
Good composition,nice colors,very sharp.
Best regards,

Hi Robert

This is my understanding of a micro shot, that's Nikon's terminology every body else's is Macro, is that the image fills the frame, I think you have basically done that.

Great colours and nice and sharp.

Just a quick note I lived in Gravesend as a school boy and later moved to Hertfordshire. River View Park.

Thanks
Gil
