Good morning peeps,

Sorry the theme was a little late in opening this morning. Its all excitement in my house today as my eldest son is 19 today and although still at college for a few weeks he has his first full time job interview this morning. So I have been busy ironing his shirt and generally fussing lol.

I had a mare of a time last night trying to find an image for the theme. I wanted something typical of a walk through the woods and after much searching I came up with this shot. Natural debris all over the floor, decaying leaves and old pieces of branches with some new flowers shooting through the ground cover. I did a filter frame in Photofiltre to try and give a dreamy feel and I hope this image gives that feel of really "being there"

Have a great day, I am off work today as Brad and I are going for some lunch when he gets back from the interview.

Will put the title for next weeks theme in the forum later and be warned its not going to be simple!

TTFN love Smurfie

nice and sharp yellow flowers
good capture
nice shallow of depth

Congratulations with your son's 19th birthday!
Hope his job interview will be succesful, so all your fussing over him was not for nothing.

Lovely picture, with a real woodland-floor; dead wood, old leaves and then fresh young green shoots growing.

Hi Helen,

Very pretty flowers you captured, I love the colours and contrast here, nice lighting too, the atmosphere is great! Its Spring!!!!

Have a great day,
Cheers,
Sweety

Hello Helen
A nice shot but you could have done better. (You know it)

good luck with Brad, Smurfie :)

yes this what we will find in the wood.. lovely shot for this week theme.. i still don't know what to choose.. :)

regards, terry

Hi Smurfie, 7 images loaded for the theme when I looked and some quite different settings and ideas. Your framing really suits this image. Good colour and detail and nicely composed. Not something we would see here in Tasmania naturally only when some 'person' dumps the gareden refuse in the forest. TFS and the theme,
David

Hi Helen, You certainly have captured the Woodland atmosphere here! The Daffodils contrast well with the background and the framing is effective. TFS.
Have just planted my Daffodils in the last few weeks. Cheers, Pat.

hello Helen
good bright shot, but i was thinking that you'll come up with something wild from the forest because you have chosen an interesting theme. Thanks a lot for such an interesting theme dear.

Oh yes, definitely SPRINGtime in England. It is so lovely to see the daffodils growing wild like this, Helen.
Good old ,ulch littering the ground and the new life peeping through - very attractive
Thanks Helen, for another exercise for us - it's been fun deciding what to post.
Janice

Yes, Helen, the framing works perfectly.
Els tells me to get Photofiltre but I haven't done it yet!

Lovely details. I really like the idea of new and beautiful things coming from the debris of the past!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Helen,

Nice image, I love the concentration on the daffodils, with their strong vertical lines, and the criss-cross of the other foliage. Good strong colours, very sharp throughout.

Great theme too, Thanks again,

Have a good weekend,

John

Helen your post is so pure and beautiful.
Well framed and lovey contribution.

Beautiful.
Excellent capture.
All that drabness and just the touch of yellow from the flowers.
Love it

Hi Helen
Nicely capture here, walking in the woodland ore in the gardenland, you will meet thise flowers everywhere, here in Denmark, they are nearly gone all of them, but then we will have new.
Good luck to your son, whit his interview.
Greetings
Jens.

Hi Helen, I like the filter frame with the fzzy edges, it focuses attention on the lovely sharp daffodils. Nice BG as well with the combination of dead stalks and new greenery springing up. I probably won't find a woodland walk here in Bahrain....
Best regards,
Les

Hello Helen,
this is an excellent way to show the experience of walking in woods and countryside at this time of year. Your frame as you say creates a dreamy feel that is something I experience when out walking in places like this. My husband sometimes comments on it and teases me about my habit of collecting acorn cups and tiny cones to slip in my pocket.
best regards
Bev
